Fun at the Fort!
Riddle:
Q: What’s the true test when you’re exactly in the middle of the week, not too close neither too far from the weekend?
A: It’s called a Wednesday.
Just like this low-on-fun-factor riddle we too had almost forgotten what ‘fun at work’ is.
When the last of monsoon was pouring down we had an overflow of enthusiasm to explore the pleasant outdoors! Or shall we say, life at Dquip felt so dull this Wednesday that even the colour of the day (as per the Navratri Calendar) was “Blue”. A bit too much aye?
Vasai Fort is where we stepped out to because we knew that those really strong walls will keep our enemy (boredom) out. And boy were we right!
We calmly walked around and the only souls we disturbed were some frogs & couples. We guess Kamlesh’s formal attire & leather shoes alarmed them! However, Amit offered Kamlesh his slippers. Who knew this act of kindness was gonna add to the fun later!
Walking on fresh green grass then tip-toeing through marshy waters and then duck-walking through a tunnel and up a spiral of steps we reached a high point of both, the Fort and our trip! We headed back thinking the evening was over. But we were wrong! XD
The quest for Amit’s Slippers was even more interesting than the Fort exploration itself! It started when the 3 musketeers Kamlesh, Shivali & KK hopped into a rickshaw & proceeded home. …And Kamlesh was still wearing Amit’s slippers!
Alex called KK trying to locate them and the conversation “between two people who suck at giving directions” went this way:
Alex: KK, where have you guys reached? Amit’s slippers are with Kamlesh!
KK: We’ve reached near some tiny houses. How about we just drop Amit’s Chappals off under a green tree? You can pick it from there.
Alex: Ok do it!
KK: I was just kidding, how will you spot The Green Tree, they’re all green silly! (Kamlesh, Shivali & the Rickshaw Wala all trying to come up with a genius solution while we 3 chuckled like fools.)
Amit, Alex, Preetam & Jai found the infamous ‘Slippers’ and were on their way back after some ‘Padhyatra’ XD
It was a short but slipper-y and fun-ny trip. And it gave us a lot of fun ammunition to survive the week. 😉
