Matheran Moments – Dquip’s Anniversary Part 2

Dquip’s 7th anniversary couldn’t have ended without a bang and our Matheran trip was the cherry on the cake! Super excited, we rose before the sun to go great guns. 😉

Adventure was in the air from the point we drove up the ghats & trekked the vertical terrain to reach the resort at Matheran. We think the USP of the resort was the amusing monkeys hanging around! These apes  made our breakfast a prime time show with their flair in gymnastics & the occasional photo bombing, ugh! The healthy breakfast had got our juices flowing for some exploration.

We walked the beaten road, something we’ve never done! Though, it was double the fun walking through the local market, to the Lord’s point, and stumbled upon some local graffiti. And soon our tummies were growling so we head back to base for an elaborate lunch. Later, we lost all our calories and worries laughing our heads off with some ‘Dum(b) Sharaaz’, TT & badminton.

Clip clop clippity clop the sounds our horses made was the background music to our chirpy chit chat enroute to the Sunset point!

It was a pure trance, the setting sun on the extensive green blankets  oozing into infinity as the dusky sky mixed with cool blues; the evening soon darkened with the beauty of black. Who knew a colourful mess would look so meditative?

Being totally honest, there was a little humpty dumpty scene on the way back from sunset point but thankfully no casualties! It did leave us with some memories to look back and laugh at (Pst pst.. one of us now has a fear of horses) 😉

On our trek back, we were literally star struck under a roof full of stars. A new definition of black beauty was the night sky, twirling a galaxy of stars down into the city lights. Sad we couldn’t capture it but hey not everything is meant to be captured. 🙂

This was a day lived once and remembered more than twice. We’ll keep the memories of these never fading smiles in photographs & much more in our minds.

Happy, ecstatic, adventurous, content and so much positive that we felt in a “Matheran day”! Thanks to our company for shelling out the bucks, it was a ‘paisa wasool’ trip. 😉
